Overnight oats are the breakfast that does not ask you to cook at 7am. The jar does the work while you sleep. If oats and some dairy are already in the house, you do not need a recipe app for this — but logging them means the rest of the week can reuse the same shelf.
Ingredients
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Banana, berries, or peanut butter on top if they are already there. Do not shop for toppings unless you want them.
Method
- Stir the oats, milk, yogurt, honey, and cinnamon in a jar or bowl.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight, or at least 4 hours.
- In the morning, loosen with a splash of milk if it is thick. Eat cold, or warm it for a minute.
- Add fruit if you have some; skip it if you do not.
Why it works in PantryZero
Oats, honey, and cinnamon sit in the pantry. Milk and yogurt are the fridge items. If those five are logged, this is a Make Now breakfast and will not clutter the grocery list.
